ThinkGeek’s take on retro chic for the iPad
OK, I admit it, even though I’ve been a Mac evangelist since before some young adults were born (ouch !), I’ve been quite disapointed lately in the business model of the new Apple Inc. I’m gonna hold back my comments about the iPad until the end of the trimester, at which point I might finally have some time for a proper — and hopefully constructive — rant, but let’s just say for now that I recognized myself when I read on ThinkGeek that “ After the glow of the initial announcement wore off, many of us came to the conclusion that the iPad was actually pretty useless ”. Well, it looks like some people decided to simply run with it…
Something like an About page
Unable to get any sleep in anticipation of tomorrow’s Day of Digital Humanities, I drafted a first version of what could possibly, eventually become an About page for my participation to this project. At the last minute, I decided to describe myself in hash tags, Identi.ca style.
Being the intellectual that I am, instead of simply writing down what came to mind, I’m now actually curious about the key elements that people generally expect from an About page. So during this Day of DH, as I visit other participant’s About pages, I’ll try to observe my own practice and post back if anything interesting comes out of this.
…or I’ll simply get my act together, write a more traditional About page and stop with the meta-analysis already !
P.S. : Expect a lot of descriptive posts and dents tomorrow, as well as a lot of cross posting since I also want to archive this event on my personal blog.

Plus cute qu’un Hécatonchire… Quel beau compliment surréaliste à souhait! N’est-ce pas palpitant la vie de religiologue? Merci Véronique ; )

It looks like that tiny gif has been around on the web for some time now but somehow I doubt that it’s lifespan is quite over just yet…
